Reflection #1

Thoughts on Standard 2.5

Learners come from all walks of life and situations; catering to their differences and needs is something all educators should adhere to. Independent learning is equally important as collaboration. It gives students an idea of their strengths and weaknesses too. There are several learning models educators can use to assist with learner variability. For example, the ADDIE model specifies what teachers create to meet academic requirements through the design process.

Reflection #2

Relevance to my practice

Creating a study and prep website for my students gave them a learning management system to reinforce particular material. By utilizing various modules on the site, e.g., games, videos, and podcasts, the differentiation presented can fit multiple learning styles that will help students comprehend the core GED subject content needed for earning their high school equivalency.

Project #1 Design a Learning Activity Using ID Principles

This project put me in the shoes of an instructional designer tasked with finding solution-based options for dealing with customer service challenges and worksite performance for my students at New Jersey Youth Corps. These learning activities are designed to strengthen my learners' executive functions and give them ownership of professional and personal development.
